After our initial three days in Warsaw we travelled down to beautiful Krakow, one of the most charming of central Europe’s old cities. It’s where old and new Poland come together and it’s another of our stops that I’d like to spend more time in.
Here is another video montage of some of the sites and sounds of this jewel of a city.

What is poignant recording in the background during the last segment?

The piece is from the Schindler’s List soundtrack played by Isaac Perlman. Also, I saw on the DVD of Roman Polanski’s film “The Pianist”, for which he won and has yet to claim his Oscar statuette because he couldn’t come to US (maybe they sent it), there’s a segment in the bonus features about his time as a young boy surviving WWII in Poland.

Your Video is appreciated, part of you stay in Poland was very bad,due to the bad weather I supposed. Is nice to have you back Hoyt in one piece.

I will send this to my friend. She did go to Warsaw, but I don’t think she visited Krakow. She would find this segment stirring, particularly the last part.
Thank you for making it possible for us to feel a part of it.

Yes, the piece in the 2nd half of the segment was the Theme to Schindler’;s List. Glad you enjoyed the video. I may have one more on the way. I certainly have more stills from the trip.

Hi Hoyt
Thanks for sharing your trip. the other day I heard you say that you had found a wonderful restaurant in Paris that you would post in your blog. I am headed to Paris on Sunday and was looking to find the name of the restaurant. Maybe there is a better place to ask about this. I will continue to look.
